Patch 0.5.4 added a dedicated Expedition Atlas passive tree (Runes of Aldur), and it meaningfully reshapes how profitable expedition farming is. This guide covers the creator’s most optimal tree setup from early testing, aimed at maximizing loot from expedition and grand expedition encounters. The core idea is that the tree lets you pile runic modifiers onto monsters for far more drops — at the cost of significantly tougher fights, so it rewards a strong character.

If the heavily-juiced version feels too hard, the creator recommends pivoting to a rarity- and effectiveness-focused setup (their previous strategy), which is easier to clear while still profitable. The modifier-stacking route guarantees the most loot once your character can handle it.

Atlas Tree & Setup

Allocate nearly every node; the choices that matter are the multi-option nodes:

• Cultivate the Sea → Desert (option 6): increased item quantity plus monster effectiveness in desert areas, the strongest loot multiplier here.
• Double or Nothing → option 1 (extra runic modifier) for pure loot; swap to the “no runic modifiers” side if encounters are too hard.
• Steady Development → the Veridian remnant over the explosive (one explosive point is fine since you already have plenty).
• Strategic Advantage → the speed option (proceed at 50% of monsters slain) to clear faster, unless you risk being overwhelmed.
• Expanding Territory → extra Veridian remnant for general mapping, or expedition chance if farming expeditions on basic maps.
• Calculated Investment → option 1 (25% chance for remnants to count as power-rune affected) for hit-or-miss upside, or option 3 (increased quantity per runic modifier) for steadier, more consistent loot.

Investment & Returns

• Investment: mid — needs a strong character to clear juiced monsters; liquid Veridian costs 600 Veridian each.
• Returns: high — the creator’s stated goal is dropping as many divines as possible per session.
• Scaling: more runic modifiers means more loot but harder monsters; power runes amplify both.

Step-by-step

1. Unlock the Expedition Atlas tree (clear the grand expedition quest-line bosses) and allocate per the setup above.
2. Take the “Feeling Lucky” node so Dannig/Farrul sells liquid Veridian for 600 Veridian.
3. While running expeditions, reroll weak remnants (anything under roughly six runes) with liquid Veridian to gamble for better encounters.
4. Keep Veridian visible on your loot filter — you need it to keep buying liquid Veridian, and surplus sells for about nine liquid per divine.
5. Keep Jado as your master and pair Eastern Village rerolls with liquid Veridian on bad remnants for the best odds.

Risks

• Heavily-modified expeditions spawn much tankier, more dangerous monsters — undergeared characters will struggle.
• Liquid Veridian rerolls are pure RNG; rerolling a good remnant can downgrade it.
• More remnants in the economy means many expensive drops will fall in price over the league.
