Strategy

Even after 0.5.3 reshuffled the farming meta, the Ritual city farm remains one of the most stable and reliable money-makers in the game. With good omens like Whitlings selling for several divines each, a well-run ritual chain can generate 70,000-80,000 tribute per cycle while keeping tablet costs low. The goal is simple: pay as little as possible for tablets, run your rituals fast, defer your tribute on good omens, and hope for a chase hit like Headhunter or Mageblood — but even the steady omen drops make this a dependable profit.

This strategy suits players who want a consistent, scalable currency farm rather than a gamble. It rewards careful tablet shopping and map sequencing more than raw build power.

Atlas Tree & Setup

The core enabler is Head of the King, bought from the currency exchange and applied at Karth. Use it to pick six maps and focus on city layouts (Feridon, Azamite, or any city) — that’s where the profit concentrates. A good pattern is one or two maps outside the city first to save currency, then the rest inside.

On the ritual atlas, take Taint and the node that gives revived monsters increased toughness but a 50% reduced tribute penalty — this guarantees maximum tribute. Prioritize tablet-bonus nodes up top. For the master, run Jado with Unexpected Missions (random extra map modifiers) and Partial Translations (up to 40% increased effect of explicit tablet modifiers) — this synergizes hard with your reroll tablets.

Investment & Returns

Investment: mid — roughly ~18 divines in tablets per 10 maps (the reroll tablet is the big cost at ~14-17 div)
Returns: high — 70k-80k tribute per cycle, plus omen sales (Whitlings, Dexters, etc.)

Step-by-step

Buy and apply Head of the King, picking 6 maps weighted toward cities (≥half should be city layouts).
Run the first 1-2 maps outside the city with cheap throwaway tablets (just increased chance to be omens) — these only set up the chain.
In the city, switch to the expensive setup: Freedom of Faith (reroll favors/altars twice as often) plus one reroll tablet (ritual allows rerolling favors 3 additional times, ~14-17 div). Roll it cheaply; divine only when prices are low.
Round out with two cheaper tablets: one for increased chance to be omens + increased tribute, one for reduced reroll-tribute cost + more omen chance (~3-5 div total).
Use corrupted waystones with ~20-26% pack size early; save a full ~50%+ pack-size map (Omen of Corrupted Rarity/Effectiveness/Monster + chaos) for the last map, where tribute and rerolls peak.
Do the map boss first only on later maps so it resurrects in subsequent rituals.
At the altar, defer good omens to drop their price, buy steady value (Whitlings, Dexters, Quantity omens), and spend leftover tribute on cheap omens rather than wasting it.

Risks
