Strategy
This method turns the Vaal Temple into a repeatable Atziri boss rush so you can keep fighting her across several temple cycles while chasing Atziri’s Communion. Instead of rebuilding the temple from scratch each time, you protect one straight corridor of rooms running down the centre to Atziri’s chamber and treat every other room as disposable.
The trick is how destabilisation works: closing the temple removes rooms, and it tends to take the outlying ones first. By padding the sides with single “defensive” rooms that do not form loops, those rooms absorb the damage while the centre path and the Royal Access Chamber key survive. Each close-and-reopen cycle then lets you walk straight to Atziri again. It suits players who can already kill Atziri reliably and want more attempts per hour at her rare drop.
Atlas Tree & Setup
- Run the temple from a T16 map rather than the hideout — the creator found it counts better that way. The shown setup used tablets with increased waystone quantity, a Vaal tablet to force the temple, and an Abyss tablet as the secondary.
- Atlas master: Jado with the Untold Histories line (pinnacle bosses have increased chance to drop Lineage supports).
- Take the Forest mastery (increased chance to find Lineage supports in forest areas), and place the Terraforming Research room in the temple so it counts as a forest.
- Stack temple tablets with the “chance to gain an additional crystal from Vaal Beacons” modifier to build up Energized Crystals — you need six per temple activation.
Investment & Returns
- Investment: mid — a stack of crystal-generating tablets, T16 maps and a character that can kill Atziri
- Returns: high but swingy — Atziri’s Communion is a rare drop; the creator needed about six temple runs before it dropped, with divine orbs from the vault in between
- Scales with the number of Energized Crystals you bank, since each one buys another reset
Step-by-step
- Farm Energized Crystals with stacked crystal-chance tablets until you have enough for several runs.
- Build a straight line of rooms from the entrance to Atziri’s chamber. If guard houses, workshops or spymasters block the centre, close the temple to reset those rooms.
- Path to the Architect’s chamber (often three to four rooms away) and kill the Architect to unlock the Royal Access Chamber, which holds the key to Atziri’s chamber. Pick up Medallions — they add temple modifiers, and re-roll medallions fix bad room cards.
- Place the Royal Access Chamber as close to the centre path as possible, then add single side rooms (Commander, Guard House, etc.) as defensive padding. Avoid any placement that creates a loop.
- Re-enter from a map, skip the Architect, go to the Royal Access Chamber, wait for the dialogue to finish, then fight Atziri and take her medallion to the vault.
- Close the temple. Destabilisation should eat the padding rooms; repair the centre with re-roll rooms if needed, add new padding, and repeat.
Risks
- Killing the Architect again after you already hold the key destabilises the temple — only do it when you need a new key.
- Destabilisation can still break the centre path; carry re-roll medallions to reconnect it.
- Atziri’s Communion is a low-chance drop, so short sessions can end with only divines and filler loot.
- The loop stops when you run out of Energized Crystals, so plenty of map time goes into refuelling.
