Strategy

This guide explains Grand Expedition farming in 0.5.5 in a simple form. It looks complex, but it only needs a little map preparation. The farm happens on the atlas sea: you use Expedition Logbooks to reveal more of the sea, find the large Grand Expedition maps (the shuriken-shaped icons), and farm those while skipping everything in between. Logbooks cost almost nothing at the time of the video, so use them wherever you can.

Inside a Grand Expedition, the value comes from carry-over runes. Gold-framed remnants pass their runes on to remnants you detonate later. You pick up strong carry-over runes early and finish on a 7+ rune remnant with all the buffs stacked. Liquid Verisium rerolls a remnant when its runes or rewards are poor.

Atlas Tree & Setup

  • Finish the King’s Marsh quest line first to get every Expedition atlas point
  • Island rumours worth knowing: the Fallen Star rumour guarantees a unique map with at least a Perfect Flux-tier reward. The Icy Cold rumour leads to a map with good terrain and strong Grand Expedition buffs.
  • Best Grand Expedition bonuses: “all remnants have a minimum number of runes” (use your best waystone and reroll aggressively), then “+1 minimum runes”, then extra remnants and bigger or more explosives
  • Priority carry-over rune: the Rune of Wealth (gold). Next are the purple runes that add monster buffs and rarity.
  • Atlas master: the Expedition master shown in the video, which boosts runic items to item level 82
  • Tablets: only irradiated tablets apply to Grand Expeditions. Prefixes are rare monster count, monster rarity, item rarity and effectiveness; the suffix adds two random mods.
  • Waystones: effectiveness of 86% or higher, ideally with monster rarity
  • Biome: desert for the best rewards; forest or swamp if your build is weaker

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: mid. Logbooks are nearly free, and tablets are about 12–13 divines each.
  • Returns: high. The creator calls it a top-tier farm and got a roughly 12x multiplier on a map that was only average.
  • Map prep is very light compared with city or Grand Mirror farms

Step-by-step

  1. Finish the Expedition quest line and take all Expedition atlas passives
  2. Use logbooks to expand the sea and find Grand Expedition maps
  3. Clear the maps in between quickly with no tablets, using the Delirium passive that can open nearby maps
  4. Choose Grand Expeditions with strong bonuses and check the island rumour
  5. Run them with your best waystone and irradiated tablets
  6. Inside, collect carry-over runes first, especially Wealth, and reroll poor remnants with Liquid Verisium
  7. Finish on the biggest remnant with all the buffs stacked

Risks

  • Choosing carry-over runes takes practice before it pays off well
  • Desert biome mods make monsters noticeably stronger
  • Results vary a lot with each map’s bonuses and your tablet rolls
  • Prices of Perfect Flux and item-level-82 bases can change during the league
