Strategy

This is an orientation guide to the 0.5 endgame: how to go from finishing the campaign to running a juiced, point-efficient Atlas. It walks the main quest line, the two Arbiter pinnacle bosses, and — most importantly — how to spend your Atlas passive points without bricking your own maps. Because 0.5 does not let you refund Atlas points (only swap multi-choice nodes), pathing the tree correctly the first time is the whole game.

It’s aimed at new and returning players who feel overwhelmed by the infinite Atlas, but the experienced-player pathing section is useful for anyone planning their juicing route. The throughline: follow the quest first to unlock the fortress and Arbiters, bank your points until you know your build can handle the difficulty, then commit them toward reward-multiplying nodes.

Atlas Tree & Setup

After the campaign you start at the Ziggurat Refuge with Doriani. Complete a T1 map, move into your hideout, then open the map device to start the main quest. Path to the first tower, then the burning monolith, then clear the western and eastern gateways to collect the two Arbiter of Ash fragments (Doriani gives the third for the quest version). Place them at the monolith and beat Arbiter of Ash. That opens the Origin Tower zone — collect Origin Cradle and Origin Spark from the Patriarch/Matriarch halls, combine them into an Origin Core with Doriani, and fight Arbiter of Divinity.

Point sources: each normal map = 1 point, each fortress tower = 4 points. Beating Arbiter of Divinity completes a whole fortress section for ~40–50 points depending on how many maps you skipped — so path to objectives in as FEW maps as possible to bank that bulk completion. The full tree is 335 points as of 0.5.

Tablet upgrades: beating Arbiter of Divinity (and the related nodes) lets you Regal tablets up to higher mod counts via Reverse Transcription / Propagating Secrets.

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: Low — this is progression and tree-pathing, not a currency sink.
  • Returns: Indirect but large — correct Atlas pathing is what multiplies every future map’s loot (irradiated tablets, fracturing orbs, exceptional items).
  • Difficulty: Mid — the bosses are infinite-try with no XP loss on quest version, but over-juicing the tree can make maps too hard for an undergeared build.

Step-by-step

  1. Tier/area-level matters: T1 = level 65, +1 per tier to T16 = level 80. Power-spike nodes unlock at T6 (level 70) and T11.
  2. New players: start with a shrine cluster plus magic/rare monster nodes for safety, then path toward Eons of Contamination (irradiated tablets, needs T6). If you can’t handle white T6, split points into essences and strongboxes or simply bank them.
  3. Once T6 is comfortable: take No Simple Battles, Valuable Paths and Specialized Seeker for sustain and harder/richer monsters, then The Chosen Path (pick a mechanic) and The Journey Ahead (pick effectiveness or rarity), plus Archaeological Interest for tablet/map sustain.
  4. Experienced players: rush T6 for Eons of Contamination, then twin threats/rising danger, then effectiveness or rarity, then Reverse Transcription + Propagating Secrets, then push T11 for Hidden Scars (fracturing orbs) and exceptional-item nodes.
  5. For mechanics (Breach, Delirium, etc.), path to each mechanic’s zone and clear its quest to unlock its tree (e.g. Breach genesis tree, Delirium instilling tree / anoint feature).

Risks

  • Atlas points are NOT refundable in 0.5 — over-committing to one juicing axis can brick your maps. Bank points if unsure.
  • The non-quest (Uber) Arbiter fights are much harder; farm fragments from Citadels or buy them from the market.
  • This is a roadmap, not a per-mechanic deep dive — each mechanic warrants its own dedicated strategy.
