Strategy

Ritual is one of PoE2’s most reliable currency-farming mechanics, centered on Kirac’s zone next to the fortress. Each ritual map rewards an Atlas point, and clearing ritual altars generates tribute you spend in-map to buy, defer, reroll, or sacrifice toward Audience with the King. The headline draws are the chase belts — Headhunter and Mageblood — alongside consistently profitable omens like Omen of Whittling. It’s a high-ceiling farm: a fully juiced ritual strategy is a big investment, but the payoff is among the best in the game.

The crucial mechanic is that tribute and un-bought items do NOT carry between maps — if you can’t afford an item this map, defer it (pay a small percentage to lock it in at a reduced price next time) or it’s gone forever. Sacrificing tribute builds Audience with the King, which lets you fight the King of the Mist for the Head of the King, then run five selected maps to assemble the effigy and fight the Bodark pinnacle boss — a quick repeatable source of ritual Atlas points.

Atlas Tree & Setup

Atlas points lock in and can’t be refunded (except multi-choice nodes), so choose carefully. Suggested priority: Increased Tribute (first three smalls, +15%) → Tempting Offers (extra reroll) → Magnanimous Offerings (free-reroll chance) → Patient Devotion (see deferred items more often) → Prayer and Pledge → Reborn in Shadow → From the Mists → Royal Tithe → Hour of the Nameless → Traveler’s Woe (tainteds drop the unique belts) → Spreading Darkness (+50% unique drops). Then layer in difficulty: Mysterious Rites, Between Two Worlds, Invigorating Sacrifices, Ongoing Chance, Umbral Gathering, Ancient Enmities, and Bring Forth the Unseen.

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: mid — get all the ritual and normal Atlas nodes, then run T15 (level 79) maps alch’d with double Exalt/Vaal, plus a 3-ritual-tablet setup.
  • Returns: high — Headhunter/Mageblood chase belts and high-value omens; T15 is where the most expensive omens start appearing.
  • Scales hard with tablet quality (more rerolls, cheaper tribute, omen chance) and with city maps’ fourth tablet via Industrial Improvements.

Step-by-step

  1. Build the ritual + normal Atlas nodes and gear up to comfortably clear T15 maps.
  2. Alch your waystones (double Exalt + Vaal) and run a 3-tablet ritual setup, or city maps for a 4th tablet.
  3. Tune tablets for increased rerolls, reduced tribute cost, increased tribute, and omen chance — check your own tablets before buying pricey ones.
  4. In each map, complete the ritual altars, then reroll/defer to fish for omens and chase belts.
  5. For Atlas points, buy or sacrifice for Audience with the King / Head of the King and repeat the Bodark fight.

Risks

  • Tribute and items don’t persist between maps — defer anything good you can’t afford, or lose it forever.
  • Locked Atlas points can’t be refunded; plan your tree before committing.
  • Fully juiced rituals get expensive and dangerous — only scale difficulty once your build can handle T15.
