Strategy
Ritual got a full redesign in Path of Exile 2 0.5 and is now an excellent, consistent farm — a steady source of valuable uniques, crafting idols, currency and boss drops, made even better by same-day bug fixes. This guide walks through the whole mechanic end to end so you can actually extract its value instead of glossing over the parts that aren’t well explained in-game.
The reworked ritual respawns the monsters you killed at earlier altars, so by the 4th–6th ritual in a map you face huge packs and rack up enormous ritual favor (15,000+ is realistic now). One honest caveat: the ritual circle is too small for how many bosses the mechanic can spawn — you can end up with no room to move, which is a death sentence on a squishy character.
Atlas Tree & Setup
Run ritual tablets to force altars — three tablets add three altars per map (up to six total). On the passive tree, “Mysterious Rites” gives a chance for Queen’s Rituals (the Queen in the Mist shows up, with seemingly richer rewards), and there’s a node that grants a sixth Right of the Nameless map. Spec the favor/tribute and pack nodes. Specifics to confirm against the source video.
Investment & Returns
- Investment: mid — ritual tablets plus tree investment. Returns: mid-to-high — consistent uniques, crafting idols and currency, scaling with how much favor you bank and convert. Leftover favor becomes an Audience with the King, a tradable key to the King of the Mists fight.
Step-by-step
- Run ritual tablets (3 → 6 altars) and complete the rituals to bank favor.
- Spend favor in the windows on valuable items, or defer (layaway) the good ones; pour leftovers into an Audience with the King.
- Open your map device WITH an Audience with the King in your bag to reveal the Crux of Nothingness and fight the King of the Mists.
- Take the King’s head to Kerarth to start the Right of the Nameless; pick a connected chain of maps and prioritise proliferation bounties.
- Each final ritual drops a Bodak boss-key fragment — collect five to fight the Bodak. Clear rituals before bosses, and don’t die mid-boss (it wipes the map’s content).
Risks
- The ritual circle is cramped — heavy boss overlap can leave no safe space; bring real defenses and DPS.
- Right of the Nameless has buggy tablet interactions and the boss-overlap isn’t guaranteed.
- Dying during a boss fight wipes the map’s content and can cost you a Bodak key.
