Strategy
This is a low-effort currency tip for anyone already mapping in PoE 2 0.5: stop skipping the Expedition encounters that appear in your maps. Even when the rune rewards look lackluster, Expedition is worth engaging with because of the tall red banners topped with a blue sigil. Detonating your charge sequence underneath those banners dramatically increases your chance to drop Expedition Logbooks — and logbooks have been trading for well over 100 Exalts each (around 136 at the time of the source video) on the currency exchange.
The method works as a passive add-on to whatever you are already farming. You do not need an Expedition-focused atlas or a dedicated character; you just need to recognise the banners and route your detonation through them when an Expedition pops up.
Atlas Tree & Setup
No dedicated setup is required — this is opportunistic profit layered on top of your normal mapping. Specific atlas passives to confirm against the source video, but the core behaviour (banners dropping logbooks on detonation) works without investment. If you want to lean into it, Expedition atlas nodes that increase encounter quantity and remnant rewards will compound the logbook drops.
Investment & Returns
- Investment: low — zero extra currency; just don’t skip the encounters you already get.
- Returns: mid — Expedition Logbooks sell for ~100–136 Exalts each on the currency exchange, and you can stack several per session while farming other content.
- Scales with how many maps you run and how consistently you set detonations under the blue-sigil banners.
Step-by-step
- While mapping, watch for the Expedition trigger to appear in your map.
- Scout the area for the tall red banners with a blue sigil on top — ideally cluster several of them.
- Lay your detonation/charge sequence so the explosion path passes directly under those banners.
- Fight the enemies and complete the detonation; logbooks pop from the banner spots.
- Pick up the logbooks and either run them or list them on the currency exchange for Exalts.
Risks
- Rune/remnant rewards themselves are often mediocre — the logbooks are the real payout, not the runes.
- Profit depends on logbook market price, which fluctuates over the league.
- Setting up the detonation adds a little time per map, so it is a small tax on pure clear speed.
