Strategy

Heavily-juiced Grand Expedition is currently the most lucrative farm in the game — a single well-rolled map can drop 40+ raw divines on the ground, on top of everything the runes and remnants award. The core loop is running Tier 15 maps with the Grand Expedition atlas node (which pushes you to area level 81) and stacking as much monster effectiveness and rare-monster density as the tablets allow. This method was only buffed a week before the source video, so expect it to potentially get adjusted mid-league.

This is the hardest content in the game right now, not a casual farm. Fully-juiced maps can spawn rares that auto-attack for 15,000 damage with 400–500 million effective HP. You want a Headhunter-tier character at minimum, plus solid ailment protection — Freeze and Chill are the biggest killers here. Roughly 95% of maps are tame, but the juiciest maps are where a weak build simply dies and loses the map. Treat it as a high-skill, high-knowledge mechanic: going in blind returns mediocre profit until you learn the rerolls and rumor management.

Atlas Tree & Setup

  • Atlas master: Jato with Unexpected Missions, Eastern Knowledge, Partial Translations, and Keen Appraisal. (Doryani is a viable alternative with Evolutionary Pressure / Improved Calibrations / Careful Procurement / Volatile Connections, but Jato returned better results.) Take the monster-effect nodes; complete the whole tree so every small tablet-effect / rare-count / rarity node is active.
  • Expedition node: put points into “increased quantity of items dropped by monsters” (rank 3 is the best long-term choice). Choose Desert for max value — it drastically boosts rare monster effectiveness — or Forest to make maps easier on a weaker build while still profiting.
  • Tablets: three tablets each with “+2 additional random modifiers” (the single most important stat). Add one strong prefix per tablet — increased number of rare monsters or monster effectiveness are the best. Only invest in 3-mod tablets when running high-quality outer-saga maps (all-six or all-seven runes).
  • Waystones: 8-mod Tier 15 with pure high monster effectiveness. Cheapest self-craft: 6-mod your map, use Omen of Chaotic Monsters + Chaotic Quantity + Chaotic Rarity, then a Chaos Orb for a pure ~70% monster-effect waystone; corrupt for a chance at 8 mods. Ignore pack size — it does nothing for rune loot.

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: high — needs a Headhunter-tier build, ~10+ div defensive uniques (e.g. Spear of the Ox / Golden Charm for ailment + slow reduction), and 40-div Alder Saga logbooks for the top setup.
  • Returns: high — best recorded map was 41 raw divines dropped from monsters alone, ignoring rune value.
  • Scaling: you can self-sustain Alder Sagas once you average ~5 expeditions per saga, meaning the farm pays for its own inputs long-term.

Step-by-step

  1. Complete the Jato atlas tree; slot the tablets and craft your 8-mod Tier 15 waystones as above.
  2. Find an Outer Saga (Alder Saga) area with at least four non-boss rumors — use the inventory-move trick (move any item, re-hover the area) to reveal hidden rumors beyond the three shown.
  3. Activate the Alder Saga on that area to guarantee four+ Grand Expeditions with all-five/all-six rune remnants.
  4. Run each Grand Expedition, prioritizing all-five and all-six remnant maps — their rerolls are guaranteed to stay at that floor, making them the most powerful.
  5. Farm Fallen Skies unique maps for guaranteed Alder Sagas (use Visions of Paradise to run the map twice for two sagas), and hit Star Drinker boss rumors opportunistically for the Rune Seeker’s Call quest drop.

Risks

  • Extremely gear-gated — an under-built character will die to juiced rares and lose the whole map.
  • Freeze/Chill and other ailments are the primary cause of death; without protection this farm punishes you hard.
  • High skill floor — expect mediocre returns while learning rumor management and reroll logic.
  • GGG may nerf it mid-league since it was very recently buffed.
