Strategy
The post-0.5 Delirium buffs turned Delirium Mirrors into one of the strongest things to run on Atlas travel maps, the filler nodes you cross between Grand Expeditions, Citadels, and other high-value targets. Delirium rewards speed, so it pairs perfectly with travel mapping: blast the map, kill the boss, move on. Unlike PoE 1, there is no loot explosion at the end of the fog. Instead, Delirium acts as a flat multiplier on drops while you clear, the most consistent payout being Simulacrum Splinters. Collect 300 splinters and they form a Simulacrum, still worth around 2.5 Divine each at time of recording. A single juiced map can yield anywhere from 50 to a full 300 splinters, plus a noticeable uptick in raw currency and bases.
Atlas Tree & Setup
You need almost the entire Delirium section of the Atlas tree. Crucially, you cannot obtain Simulacrum Splinters at all until you reach the relevant point, so this is endgame-only content. On the keystone choice, take the option that spreads the Grand Mirror fog to far more than four maps. The ‘You can’t scare me anymore’ node lets bosses drop valuable emotions such as Potent Liquid Contempt (around 2.5 Divine). For the path bonus, alternate between Spirits (‘I’m not alone anymore’, which summons Fracturing Mirrors every 10 seconds) and Summoning Circles, which add bosses, increasing chances at those emotion drops. Spirits are the more consistent pick.
For the Master, take Jato and corrupt every map. Corruption replaces the layout with a random one and adds an extra modifier, and Jato’s Partial Translations grants 0-40% increased effect of explicit tablet mods, which stacks beautifully with good Delirium tablets. Spend the two free points on Unforeseen Threats (finds Anomaly maps for Lineage Supports) and a flexible pick like Long Days or Eastern Knowledge if you are deep in an expedition region. Run corrupted six-mod tier 15 maps; tier 16 is unnecessary. Avoid chilled ground, temp chains, and less recovery rate.
Tablet Mods
Prefixes: pack size, increased monster rarity, and number of rare monsters all boost splinter yield. Item rarity and effectiveness are fine but less impactful here since the monsters are already tanky. Suffixes: increased Simulacrum Splinter stack size is mandatory. Pair it with either increased Fracturing Mirrors (broader, but pricier) or increased Mirror Shards (cheaper subset). A cheap alternative suffix is ‘Delirium encounters more likely to spawn unique bosses’, since Kosis and Omnophobia dump splinters when they appear.
Investment & Returns
- Investment: mid. Corrupted six-mod tier 15 maps plus Delirium tablets (splinter stack size + a mirror mod or unique-boss mod) and a partly unlocked Atlas. Returns: high. 50-300 Simulacrum Splinters per map (Simulacrums ~2.5 Divine each, 300 splinters = one Simulacrum), valuable liquid emotions like Potent Liquid Contempt (~2.5 Divine), plus raw currency and bases. Simulacrums themselves can swing from a loss to 30+ Divine, and the lottery prize is Voices jewels (a usable one runs several thousand Divine, multi-socket ones reach several Mirrors). Scaling comes from tablet quality, Jato’s mod-effect boost, and adding more bosses via Spirits or Summoning Circles.
Step-by-step
- Unlock the full Delirium Atlas tree, take Jato, and slot Spirits or Summoning Circles as your path bonus.
- Roll corrupted six-mod tier 15 maps, avoiding chilled ground, temp chains, and less recovery.
- Apply Delirium tablets carrying splinter stack size plus a Fracturing Mirror / Mirror Shard mod (or the unique-boss mod).
- Run Delirium Mirrors on your travel nodes between Expeditions, Citadels, and cities, blasting fast and killing the boss.
- Build deliriousness in the fogged quadrant; once it passes 100%, one map converts into a Simulacrum.
- For Simulacrums, take Apex Predators (extra bosses) and the modifier option each wave; avoid stacking extra monster waves, which is far deadlier.
- Hunt Voices jewels as the jackpot reward, and sell splinters, emotions, and bases along the way.
Risks
- This is hard, highend content; tanky Delirium monsters and doubled map bosses on Grand Mirrors can kill an undertuned character.
- Simulacrum returns are extremely RNG; some runs lose currency.
- Stacking extra monster waves in Simulacrum can chain-kill you, especially combined with nasty rare mods.
- A buggy Act 1 worm spawn can wall off bosses and brick a Simulacrum.
- Liquid emotion and splinter prices drift down as more players farm Delirium.
