Overview
This is the second-stage progression plan for Gemling Twister. It picks up where a roughly 20-divine starter setup leaves off and lays out where the next 50–100 divines should go. The main upgrade is permanent Frenzy Charge uptime. With six charges held permanently, Barrage adds up to 14 extra Twister repeats per cast, and in maps the floor ends up covered in Twisters.
The character converts all of its physical damage to elemental through Ice-Tipped Arrows. That feeds Trinity by dealing fire, cold and lightning together, and it makes Rakiata’s Flow extremely strong because the flow flips every elemental resistance at once. The guide ranks each upgrade by power against cost. Its point is that the most expensive item is often not the best next purchase.
The second half covers the high-budget side: Rakiata’s Flow, Rigwald’s, an Ordained crit swap with Garukhan’s Resolve, Time-Lost jewels and Herald’s Declaration. It ends with a practical guide to balancing Trinity across all three elements.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Permanent Frenzy Charges turn every Barrage into 8–14 extra Twister attacks, a huge damage multiplier
- Upgrades are incremental — every step from ~20 to 100+ divines adds noticeable power
- Full elemental conversion plus Trinity scales extremely well with Rakiata’s Flow
- ~95% deflection keeps mapping comfortable without sacrificing damage
- Olroth’s Conviction lets one Barrage empower three Twister casts
Cons
- The full frenzy engine (belt, perpetual charge, quality-corrupted gems) costs roughly 50 divines
- Trinity balance takes trial and error across gear, which can mean Path of Building work
- The crit swap is very expensive (Garukhan’s Resolve ~360 div) for relatively little gain
- Charge generation is slow at the start of pinnacle fights without extra tech
- Visual clarity is poor once the Twister count gets high
Key Skills
- Twister — main clear and damage skill, repeated many times by Barrage
- Barrage — consumes Frenzy Charges for extra repeats; quality raises the chance not to consume charges
- Ice-Tipped Arrows — converts physical to cold and freezes to proc Combat Frenzy
- Trinity (support/buff) — more elemental damage while all three affinities stay high
- Herald’s Declaration — a brief Intimidate for 10% more damage taken and 10% less damage dealt by enemies
Gear & Anointments
The frenzy engine starts from Combat Frenzy (freezes generate charges), +6 max charges from Fervor and Frenetic, and stacking chance not to remove charges on Barrage:
- Barrage gem 5-linked, quality-corrupted to 20%+ (alt quality gives chance not to remove charges)
- Perpetual Charge support — 25% chance not to remove charges
- Fabled Stag — a free 10%
- Darkness Enthroned belt (body armour variant) socketing an Idol of Aramir; the belt boosts the idol by up to 100%. A Fox Idol activates the bonded quality-to-all-gems mod
- Paragon notable for 5% skill gem quality; an optional T1 boots suffix for chance not to remove charges
- Olroth’s Conviction (~35 div) — needs Runic Ward on a weak gear piece at least equal to Barrage’s mana cost (~61)
The suggested buying order is Taming (5–7 div), then Yoke, then the perma-frenzy package, then Rakiata’s Flow (~200 div, the top damage upgrade). After that, choose between Rigwald’s (speed) and the Ordained spear crit swap. A Heart of the Well with gain-as-extra fire and lightning helps balance Trinity. Theoretic Generator is a strong anoint candidate for faster charge generation during boss fights.
Endgame Notes
In pinnacle fights the build takes a while to reach six Frenzy Charges, so pairing Theoretic Generator with Combat Frenzy is the planned fix. A super-endgame version with Mageblood would move the idol into the body armour and craft charge-retention boots to stay near 95%. Two of three Trinity affinities already give strong damage. All three is the min-max target.
