Overview

Sunder Titan takes the slam archetype most players associate with long wind-ups and turns it into a repeatable, spammable clear tool. Instead of committing to one heavy slam every few seconds, this setup stacks skill speed, attack speed and rage until Sunder fires often enough to function as a primary mapping skill — the fissure rips forward through a pack in a straight line and the explosions chain ahead of the character, so most of a screen dies before anything closes the distance.

What makes the 0.5 version worth building is the Titan ascendancy stack. Colossal Capacity opens up gearing flexibility, Hulking Form multiplies the value of every efficient node already taken on the tree, Earthbreaker feeds directly into both Sunder and Earthshatter, and Ancestral Empowerment turns the war cry window into a genuine burst phase. The result keeps the mace-and-shield identity — armour, block, standing in the pack — without the downtime that usually comes with it.

The build also avoids being gimmick-dependent, which matters for a melee character. A weaker weapon slows the numbers but Sunder still clears; a dangerous map is survivable behind Raise Shield; a tanky boss gets answered by the Armour Break → Infernal Cry → Earthshatter → Berserk rotation rather than by needing a specific unique to drop.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • One main button for mapping — Sunder alone handles packs and rares
  • Naturally tanky: shield block, armour stacking, Raise Shield and Magma Barrier as panic buttons
  • Scales linearly with weapon upgrades, so progression feels responsive
  • Real boss rotation available without changing the gear or skill setup
  • Armour Break does double duty — defence stripping, rage generation and shock setup

Cons

  • Weapon-driven: a poor sacred mace roll caps the whole build’s damage
  • Wants premium jewels (Heart of the Well, multiple Grand Spectrum rubies) to reach the showcased numbers
  • Mana sustain is easy to neglect while chasing damage, and bad mana uptime makes the clear feel bad
  • Melee positioning means juiced map density is still a real threat

Key Skills

  • Sunder — the main button; linear fissure clear supported by Rapid Attacks, Rigwald’s Frenzy, Cammo’s Madness, Heft and Atalui’s Bloodletting
  • Earthshatter — heavier slam burst for rares and bosses, linked with Fist of War, Branching Fissures, Heft, Concentrated Area and Efficiency
  • Armour Break — strips defences, builds rage fast and applies shock to widen the damage window
  • Infernal Cry — war cry burst plus rage generation, with cooldown recovery so it comes back often
  • Berserk / Raise Shield / Magma Barrier / Time of Need — the offence-and-safety button set for dangerous moments

Gear & Anointments

The weapon is the single most important slot. Target a sacred mace with increased skill speed, attack speed, flat physical damage, plus levels to melee skills and reduced attribute requirements where possible. Every weapon upgrade is immediately felt.

  • Shield — a defensive rare that supports the block-and-push-forward playstyle
  • Body armour — max life, mana, energy shield, strength and armour; evasion is a bonus
  • Gloves — attack speed, armour, dexterity, plus melee skill levels
  • Boots — movement speed, armour, life, resistances
  • Belt — armour, life, resistances and ideally extra charm slots; charms cover freeze and stun
  • Rings — added flat physical, cold and lightning damage, which Sunder scales from well
  • Amulet — Defiance of Destiny is the defensive pick; anoint Mystical Rage for smoother rage uptime
  • Jewels — Heart of the Well as the premium diamond jewel, plus multiple Grand Spectrum rubies
  • Flasks — a strong life flask and a mana flask with real sustain rolls

Specific rare bases beyond these should be confirmed against the source video.

Endgame Notes

The tree leans hard on shield and block passives so that higher-tier maps stop landing punishing single hits, which in turn lets the character keep attacking instead of retreating. Offensively, anything granting attack speed, skill speed, melee or physical damage, rage effect, armour break value or stun pressure is priority — Earthshatter picks up the fissure and slam scaling for free while the mapping skill is being scaled.
