Overview
This build turns the Sorceress’s Chronomancer into a permafreeze cold-caster that locks down whole packs while self-casting Cold-infused Ice Nova as its single source of clear and damage. The core loop pairs Ice Nova with Snap and Siphon Elements to keep cold infusions flowing — Ice Nova lands roughly quadruple its base damage while infused. A Cast on Ailment Comet setup adds extra clear, and a Frost Wall package supplies hard single-target.
The creator frames it as their best league starter since the game’s release: an all-around character that has stomped every stage of the game from day one, backed by a full leveling-to-endgame written guide. Defensively it is Ward-based rather than energy-shield-based, rune-forging high-end ES bases (Vile Robe, Siren Scale gloves, SA sandals) on the Vericium anvil to convert them into a large Ward pool.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Permafreezes entire screens, making mapping nearly hands-off — clear is essentially one button (Ice Nova)
- One-taps bosses with the Frost Bomb + Frost Wall single-target rotation
- Strong from day one as a league starter, with a full leveling path into endgame
- Cold-infused Ice Nova roughly quadruples its base hit when infusions are up
- Ward defensive layer scales cheaply via rune-forging the right ES bases
Cons
- Engine depends on keeping cold infusions generated (Siphon Elements / Snap) to keep damage flowing
- Several quality pieces (Alpha’s Howl, +3 amulet, good crit jewels) get expensive to optimize
- Single-target needs a short setup (Sigil of Power → curse → Frost Bomb → Frost Wall spam) rather than instant burst
Key Skills
- Ice Nova — primary self-cast cold AoE; the only button needed while clearing
- Snap / Siphon Elements — generate the cold infusions that empower infused Ice Nova
- Cast on Ailment + Comet — extra screen clear triggered off freezes
- Frost Wall + Frost Bomb — single-target package; Frost Bomb strips roughly 120 cold exposure to paper tanky rares and bosses
- Blasphemy + Temporal Chains — defensive curse layer (skippable if short on Spirit)
Gear & Anointments
The build centers on a cold-spell staff with +level of cold (or all) spell skills, increased cold/spell damage, and spell crit. Defenses are fully Ward-based: rune-forge a Vile Robe chest, Siren Scale gloves, and SA sandals on the Vericium anvil for maximum Ward, prioritizing life, Spirit, and resistances over the ES rolls (energy shield does not feed Ward). An Alpha’s Howl with Cost Efficiency supplies Spirit, and a +3 amulet (ideally +3 with Spirit) is the main chase item. Time Loss Sapphire jewels want spell-crit-damage and crit-chance notables, slotted with an Isolation oil to guarantee a large upgrade radius. Specific item rolls should be confirmed against the source video.
Endgame Notes
The build is presented as a full-game stomper — permafreeze trivializes map mobs while the Frost Bomb / Frost Wall rotation handles pinnacle single-target. Ascendancy order is Quicksand Hourglass → Apex of the Moment → Now and Again → Phased Form, taking the slow first.
