Overview
Ice Shot Pathfinder is a cold bow build that wins fights by never letting them start. Ice Shot fires into packs at range, freezes them in place, and chains cold projectiles across the screen before anything closes the distance. The whole design is about controlling space: stay mobile, keep enemies frozen, and let projectile damage resolve the encounter from somewhere safe.
Herald of Ice is what makes the clear feel fast rather than merely safe — cold explosions on death chain packs together, so a single well-placed Ice Shot cascades through a group. Freezing Mark handles the cases raw clear cannot, adding sustained pressure against rares, elites and bosses where you need concentrated damage rather than screen coverage.
The build’s identity is a low-stress mapping character. You are never forced into melee range, positioning is forgiving, and the freeze itself doubles as a defensive layer on top of Wind Dancer and Ghost Dance.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Safe ranged clear — packs are frozen and dead before they reach you
- Herald of Ice explosions make mapping fast and satisfying, not just survivable
- Freeze functions as a defensive layer as well as damage control
- Straightforward moment-to-moment gameplay; no complex rotation
- Scales cleanly with cold damage, attack speed, crit and charges
Cons
- Needs projectile scaling, cold penetration and good bow upgrades before it feels strong late
- Bossing depends on positioning discipline and keeping mark uptime — damage is not free
- Weaker early until cold and projectile scaling come together

Gear & Anointments
Bow-based, prioritising cold damage, bow damage, projectile damage, attack speed, cold penetration, critical chance, charge generation and movement speed. The creator does not name specific unique items, so specific uniques are to be confirmed against the source video. The written build guide is linked from the video description.
Endgame Notes
Mapping is the build’s strongest axis — the creator rates it 5 out of 5, with league start, bossing and scaling each at 4 out of 5. For bosses, the pattern is: keep Freezing Mark applied, hold range, use Ice Shot for consistent damage, and avoid standing still. Tornado Shot supplies extra coverage when you need more projectiles on screen, while Barrage keeps charges flowing between packs.
