Overview
Ice Shot has always been a skill that pays off the moment the supporting scaffolding is in place, and this 0.5 Deadeye version leans all the way into that. One shot spreads across the screen, freezes the pack, and the frozen bodies chain into further explosions before anything closes the distance. The build wraps that clear around heavy critical-strike scaling rather than generic attack damage, because Garukhan’s Resolve only pays out once crit chance and crit multiplier are genuinely high.
Where most Ice Shot setups fall apart is single target. This one solves it with Tornado Shot: drop the tornado between yourself and the boss, stand close, and fire Ice Shot through it so the projectiles multiply on the way in. That one interaction is what turns a mapping skill into something that handles pinnacle fights, and it is why the tree picks up close-range projectile nodes that a normal bow build would skip.
Defensively the build stacks high evasion with energy shield recovery instead of raw life. Ghost Dance returns a large chunk of energy shield whenever you are hit, Beast Fur Skin and Spectral Ward convert the evasion on a Harpy’s body armour into more effective layers, and Subterfuge Mask lets a big energy-shield helmet count as evasion. The result is a bow character that is far less fragile than the archetype usually implies.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Screen-wide clear from a single shot — projectile spread, freeze, and chained explosions do the work
- Tornado Shot shotgunning gives it real pinnacle-boss single target, not just map damage
- Constant freezes act as a defensive layer on top of the evasion stack
- Ghost Dance plus energy-shield recovery makes it noticeably tankier than most bow builds
- Playstyle stays simple in maps: shoot and move
Cons
- Crit scaling means the payoff is back-loaded — a low-crit bow makes the whole build feel flat
- Bossing requires deliberate positioning (place tornado, stand close) rather than free-casting
- Wants specific pieces (Harpy’s body armour, a high-crit bow, Hierophant-tier quiver) to hit its ceiling
- Heavy freeze and explosion visuals create real screen noise
Key Skills
- Ice Shot — the main damage skill, supported by Ricochet, Elemental Armament, Fork, and Rakiyata’s Flow
- Tornado Shot — placed between you and the boss so Ice Shot projectiles multiply through it; the entire single-target plan
- Mirage Archer — mirrors Ice Shot for extra clear and boss uptime, run with cooldown recovery and cold penetration
- Whirling Device — the armour-explosion engine: Magnified Area, Cold Penetration, Unnatural Strength, Armour Explosion
- Freezing Mark — boss opener with Mark of the Deafening, Eternal Mark, Mark for the Dead, and Charged Mark
Gear & Anointments
The bow is the single most important piece. Prioritise high base critical chance alongside physical or added cold damage, attack speed, and ideally projectile skill levels — base crit is what everything else multiplies. Quiver choice splits by content: Hiero’s Gambit for mapping arrow behaviour, a Visceral quiver with projectile levels and crit stats for pinnacle damage.
- Body armour — Harpy’s for the large evasion roll, added cold damage, dexterity, and freeze duration
- Helmet — a big energy-shield piece with crit chance and resistances, converted through Subterfuge Mask
- Gloves / Boots — flat added damage and attack speed; evasion, energy shield, movement speed, deflection
- Amulet / Rings — spirit, skill levels, energy shield, crit chance and multiplier; resistances, life, rarity, added elemental damage
- Charm — Fall of the Axe for slow immunity and onslaught
Ascendancy order is Gathering Winds, then Mirage Deadeye, then Projectile Proximity Specialization, then Endless Munitions. Specific anointments to be confirmed against the source video.
Endgame Notes
The creator positions this as pinnacle-capable rather than a levelling project — the crit and evasion stacking both need investment before the build feels like the footage. Amazon is named as a viable alternative ascendancy if you prefer that shell over Deadeye.
