Overview
This build turns the Druid’s plant arsenal into a genuine one-button mapping engine. Entangle is the only skill needed for the vast majority of clear: press it into a pack, keep walking, and the ground fills with plants that lock enemies down, break their armour, shock them through an automated Thunderstorm, and delete them before the screen scrolls. Unlike builds that advertise one-button play and then quietly require a five-skill rotation per pack, the clear loop here really is a single input.
The engine underneath is a physical-spell crit setup wrapped in a large energy shield pool. Cast on Critical keeps Thunderstorm firing on its own, which waters the plants and enables shock via Shock Conduction, so the damage multiplier maintains itself while the player only moves and presses Entangle. When something tanky survives the first wave, Thrashing Vines is the dedicated single-target answer, opened by a Sigil of Power circle for the spell damage bonus.
What makes the whole thing accessible is the price of entry. The creator reports comfortable high-tier map clear on roughly a five-to-six Divine budget, with the build scaling steadily rather than sharply as spell levels, crit, and energy shield improve.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Genuine one-button mapping loop — Entangle clears packs without a rotation
- Tanky for a caster thanks to a pure energy shield chest and defensive tree investment
- Very cheap to start; strong high-tier map performance at around 5–6 Divine
- Dedicated single-target package (Sigil of Power plus Thrashing Vines) for rares and bosses
- Automated Thunderstorm via Cast on Critical adds shock without extra button presses
Cons
- Mana is the build’s real weak point; Thunderstorm level has to be tuned carefully so it does not drain the pool
- The passive tree looks strange because many points exist only to unlock adjacent nodes through Oracle mechanics
- Wants Forced Outcome and Entwined Realities online before the damage and pathing feel correct, so it is weak before ascending
- Screen fills with plant effects, which can obscure dangerous ground telegraphs
Key Skills
- Entangle — the mapping skill and the reason the build exists; spreads plant damage and locks packs down
- Thrashing Vines — dedicated single-target burst for rares and bosses
- Thunderstorm (via Cast on Critical) — automated trigger that waters the plants and enables shock
- Sigil of Power — boss-opener circle for a large spell damage bonus
- Blasphemy + Temporal Chains — slow aura that keeps packs inside the plant field
Gear & Anointments
This is an energy shield spell build despite being a Druid, so armour bases are not the target. Priority is a large pure energy shield body armour — the bigger the base, the safer the build feels — with resistances, chaos resistance, and rarity as secondary stats.
- Weapon: staff, or wand plus focus. Look for levels to physical spells (Entangle and Thrashing Vines are physical spells), spell damage, cast speed, crit chance, crit damage, and gained-as-extra-lightning where affordable
- Gloves: Nightscale is the cheap pick for mana regeneration, which directly addresses the build’s main pain point; otherwise rare energy shield gloves with resistances
- Boots: movement speed, energy shield, chaos resistance, rarity, resistances
- Belt: pure defensive stats
- Amulet: spell levels, crit, cast speed — Acceleration is the budget anoint, with stronger notables available at higher cost
- Ascendancy order: Lesser Harm → Forced Outcome → Unseen Path → Entwined Realities
Endgame Notes
Thunderstorm should land around level 18 after gear bonuses — high enough to shock the monsters being fought, low enough that mana stays manageable. Jewel sockets are strong upgrades but should be picked up only after the core tree is complete. Scaling from the budget version is incremental: more spell levels, more crit, more energy shield, each making the plants hit harder and the clear smoother.
