Overview

This is a hybrid armour / energy shield Wolf Form Druid built around freezing everything that matters and hitting it while it cannot move. The core loop stacks Lunar Blessing, Ice Bite and Freezing Mark to convert a large share of the build’s physical attack damage into cold, then leans on Deep Freeze to hold pinnacle bosses locked in place long enough for a single burst window to finish them.

What makes the setup notable is how little it costs. The creator puts the entire character at roughly three to five Divine Orbs, with most gear slots bought for 20-40 Exalted Orbs each, and still reports comfortable six-mod T15 Breach maps and near a million DPS at level 90. The defensive side is the reason it holds up: over 10,000 armour paired with 2,500 energy shield and 1,550 life gives roughly a 4,000 HP effective pool, and heavy investment in faster start of energy shield recharge pulls the recharge delay down to 1.5 seconds with a full refill in about three more.

The 7th and 8th ascendancy points open up Wisdom of the Magi alongside Lord of the Wilds, which is what lets the build run an off-hand scepter for Bear Idols. Those idols grant increased attack damage while shapeshifted, up to a large multiplier on an exceptional scepter with a third socket gambled in.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Extremely cheap for what it does - the full character lands around 3-5 Divine Orbs
  • Very tanky for a hybrid setup: 10.2k armour, 2.5k ES, 1.55k life, and a 1.5 second ES recharge delay
  • Freeze lock trivialises most pinnacle mechanics; T3 max-difficulty encounters die inside a single freeze window
  • Six-mod T15 maps with Breach are described as comfortable, not a stretch goal
  • Gear is replaceable - no single mandatory chase unique gates the build

Cons

  • This is an endgame guide picking up around level 90, not a levelling or league-start plan
  • Rarity is still effectively mandatory for currency returns, which costs stat budget on gear
  • Elemental Weakness is a stopgap for a pinnacle-boss curse until Rokchiata’s Flow is affordable (roughly 11 Divine)
  • One free Savage Fury source relies on an unintended weapon-set interaction the creator flags as a bug
  • Requires meeting an intelligence threshold to cast the curse, which needs a dedicated cheap +30 int weapon swap

Key Skills

  • Wolf Form / Lunar Assault - the main attack, five-linked with Deep Freeze for extended freeze duration on bosses
  • Lunar Blessing - the primary damage buff, run with Efficiency and Concentrated Area; Cooldown Recovery replaces Second Wind after the 0.4.0c change to keep near-100% uptime
  • Arctic Howl + Rage and Cry / Echoing Cry - builds 24 rage against unique enemies to accelerate the opening Lunar Blessing
  • Ice Bite + Deep Freeze - stacks with Vengeance, Lunar Blessing and Freezing Mark for a very large gained-as-cold bonus, and is worth using in maps too
  • Elemental Weakness - pinnacle-only curse, quality plus a level 18 gem stacks with exposure and penetration for near-total resistance removal

Gear & Anointments

The weapon set is a physical or hybrid physical-elemental attack weapon in the main hand, with a scepter in the off-hand purchased for around 20 Exalted Orbs, ideally exceptional and corrupted into a third socket for extra Bear Idol capacity. Runes matter more than usual here because of Wisdom of the Magi: one Rune of the Hunt is a fixed pick for its +1 to attack skill levels and increased damage against rares and uniques, with the second slot going to a Greater Iron Rune on a high-physical weapon or a flat elemental rune on a hybrid one - the creator recommends checking both in a planner rather than guessing.

  • Bear Idols on the off-hand scepter for increased attack damage while shapeshifted
  • Chest and several other slots prioritise faster start of energy shield recharge
  • Gloves with +2 to melee skill levels, boots with energy shield and movement speed
  • Boots run energy shield only, with the Iron Slippers cluster on the passive tree supplying armour instead
  • A cheap +30 intelligence weapon for the curse swap, and around 60% rarity across the gear total

Endgame Notes

The build is aimed squarely at T15+ mapping and pinnacle bosses. The creator demonstrates a T3 Zarokh kill in seconds under a permanent freeze and expects the same on max difficulty with the identical setup. Arbiter is reachable but is called out as needing more currency invested into the freeze than this budget version carries.
