Strategy

Atziri’s Temple is one of the stronger currency generators in 0.5, and temple-specific currency carries real market value. The old temple-snaking strategy was nerfed out of viability in this patch, which leaves two workable approaches: a fast rush straight to Atziri, and a slower full-temple build that farms the rooms themselves. This guide covers both, since they suit different moods and different amounts of time.

The temple is built by running maps carrying Vaal beacons, each of which rewards a crystal. Six crystals fund one full temple run, and you can bank up to 60 — enough for ten temples back to back. Temple tablets carrying the “chance to gain an additional crystal from Vaal beacons” modifier accelerate this considerably; buy the ten-use version rather than the single-use one. Running three tablets alongside a Jade’s randomly gain between 0 and 40% increased effect of explicit modifiers on tablets typically banks 60 crystals in six to eight maps.

Inside, you place rooms and roads to shape the temple layout. Better rooms mean better loot, and the eventual goal is reaching the final chamber to fight Atziri herself.

Atlas Tree & Setup

Completing the temple atlas points matters for both strategies, because they reduce how much destabilization occurs when a run closes — that is what protects your built-up rooms between runs. Beyond that, the setup cost is tablets: roughly three good temple tablets per crystal-banking cycle, at around 2 div each for a low-roll one.

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: mid — around 2 div per temple tablet, three per cycle, plus the map time to bank crystals
  • Returns: high — the creator banked roughly 42 div across one rush run plus one full temple, including four Architect’s Orbs at 3 div each, three Cultivation Orbs at 4 div each, three Crystallized Corruption at 2 div each, and an Orb of Annulment
  • Scaling: the full-temple approach scales with how many tier-three currency rooms you can chain and keep alive; the rush approach scales with raw repetition speed

Step-by-step

Rush the boss

  1. Enter the temple and path as directly as possible to the Architect’s Chamber. Place any unusable rooms off to the side of the main path.
  2. Defeat the Architect — this unlocks placement of restricted rooms, including the Key Room.
  3. Place the Key Room as close as possible to both your path and Atziri’s Chamber, so both can be reached in a single run.
  4. Leave and close the run. Some rooms will destabilize; temple atlas points limit the damage.
  5. Keep running until the Key Room and Atziri’s Chamber are both accessible in one run.
  6. Visit the Key Room first and let the blood pool until the portals turn to blood portals, then move to Atziri’s Chamber.
  7. Kill Atziri across both phases, collect the drop, then return to the first chamber and open the middle chest — the other six auto-open shortly after.

Full temple

  1. Avoid killing Atziri or the Architect; both cause heavy destabilization that destroys your currency rooms.
  2. Build two separate rows of chained rooms with gaps between them — rooms directly adjacent to another row destabilize more readily.
  3. Row one: link Generator to Thaumaturge, Alchemy, Armoury, Barracks and Commanders, continuing to add Commanders and Barracks as they appear.
  4. Row two: Golem Works, Smithy, Armoury, Alchemy, Thaumaturge, Corruption and Sacrificial Chambers, using Barracks and Armouries as connective tissue.
  5. Level the currency rooms to tier three — Smithy, Corruption, Thaumaturge, Alchemy, Sacrificial Chambers and Golem Works are the priorities.
  6. Dump every leftover room and road on the opposite side of the temple as bait, so destabilization consumes those instead of your chains.

Risks

  • Killing Atziri or the Architect in the full-temple strategy destroys the rooms you spent runs building — the two strategies genuinely conflict.
  • Room drops are RNG. Multiple runs can pass without offering Smithy, Corruption Chamber, Alchemy, Sacrificial Chambers or Golem Works.
  • Some rooms, notably corruption chambers, delete themselves after use regardless of how well you built.
  • Both strategies need a competent character. The creator ran a Smith of Kitava Warrior and was explicit that it is not an S-tier build, but it does need to clear reliably.
