Strategy

This is a profit-crafting method rather than a map-farming one: you buy cheap bases, apply a small deterministic sequence of essences, omens and desecration, and sell the finished rare into the early-league demand spike. It works because the first days of a fresh economy are the one window where crafted mid-tier rares reliably outsell their material cost — everyone needs resistances, energy shield and weapon damage at once, and nobody has the currency to buy top-end gear yet.

The creator runs three variants: energy shield body armours, resistance belts, and wands or staves. All three follow the same shape. Identify which modifiers the market actually pays for, check the required item level and tier weights on PoE2DB or craft.dexile, pick a base that does not already block the essence you want to use, then apply essence, fill with a targeted Exalt, and finish with a desecration for the last hard-to-hit modifier.

It is aimed at players who want to fund a build in the first days of a league without farming maps for it. Every craft is cheap enough to run in volume, and the loss on a failed craft is small.

Atlas Tree & Setup

No atlas configuration is involved — this is bench and vendor work, not map farming. The setup is the reference sites (PoE2DB or craft.dexile) for modifier tiers, weights and item level breakpoints, plus a stock of Greater Essences, Omens and Preserved bones. Buy bases off trade rather than relying on drops.

Investment & Returns

  • Investment: low — bases cost around one Exalted Orb, and essences are cheap in the first days
  • Returns: mid — the creator describes this as how they make their first several Divines each league, with individual belt crafts targeted at roughly 50 Exalted Orbs of profit
  • Scaling: scales with volume, not with gear. Margins are widest in the opening days and compress as the economy matures and more crafters flood the market

Step-by-step

  1. Body armour (energy shield). Buy an item level 74+ Vaal Rope (or any armour/evasion base) with flat ES — not a base that already rolled %ES, since that blocks the essence. Apply a Greater Essence of Enhancement for T4 %ES. Use an Omen of Sinister Exaltation with an Exalted Orb so it can only hit a prefix, filling toward Hybrid ES or Spirit. Desecrate the suffixes with a preserved rib, ideally under an Omen of Abyssal Echoes, chasing a second resistance. Finish with an Exalted Orb, quality it, and add Iron Runes for extra energy shield.
  2. Belt. Start from a magic base with maximum life and at least two charm slots. Apply a resistance essence you do not already have rolled. Use an Omen of Dexter Necromancy to force desecration onto a suffix, plus the cheapest of Omen of the Lich / Sovereign / Black-Blooded, with a preserved collarbone. Add Omen of Abyssal Echoes if you can afford it. Finish with an Exalted Orb.
  3. Wand or staff. Pick a base that already carries level of all (cold) spell skills. Apply a Greater Essence of Sorcery for increased spell damage. Desecrate a prefix for increased elemental damage using Omen of the Lich plus Omen of Sinister Necromancy with a preserved jawbone; Omen of Abyssal Echoes lets you reroll a low value. Finish with two Exalted Orbs, aiming for critical hit chance for spells.

Risks

  • Preserved collarbones are the expensive input on the belt craft — price the finished item before committing, or the craft loses money
  • Desecration is not guaranteed to hit the modifier you want, and the creator’s own on-camera attempt misses one
  • Margins depend on the early-league window; the same crafts are far less profitable a week in
  • The wand and staff crafts assume you know which damage modifiers your target buyers actually scale, which shifts with the meta
