Strategy

This zero-to-hero league start ends in a clear currency method: stack item rarity and farm Grand Expedition. In patch 0.5.5 the old logbook-style modifiers no longer come from a separate item — they can now roll naturally on Grand Expeditions — which makes each run a strong source of loot as soon as a character can handle the monsters. The creator reached a Mageblood purchase (163 Divine Orbs) on day two and even dropped a Mirror of Kalandra, and says the gold rush would have come sooner if they had gone straight to Expedition instead of exploring other parts of the Atlas.

The farming character is a Gemling Legionnaire running Flame Blast with Oil Grenade. Charged Flame Blast ignites are carried by Oil Grenades, so the pair clears and bosses well while stacking a lot of armour. The guide is aimed at players who already have a tanky, ground-based clear build and want a mid-investment method that scales with rarity.

Atlas Tree & Setup

Prioritise Grand Expedition; the rest of the Atlas progression is optional for this strategy.
Rarity setup: triple-rarity rings plus a rarity amulet took the character from 73% to about 109%, later around 150% item rarity.
Tighten your loot filter — Grand Expedition drops far more items than a default filter can handle.
Ghost March boots (corrupted for a second socket) let the dodge roll pass through enemies, preventing body-blocking in dense remnant packs.
Slot Tornado into the cast-on-dodge setup to deal with flying monsters, which avoid ground-based damage.

Investment & Returns

Investment: mid — a working clear build plus several Divine Orbs of rarity gear (the amulet alone cost about 4 Divine)

Step-by-step

Level through the campaign and finish the Atlas bosses needed to reach endgame mapping.
Switch into a tanky clear build (here, Flame Blast + Oil Grenade Gemling Legionnaire).
Buy item rarity on rings and amulet until you are above 100% rarity.
Update your loot filter before running Grand Expeditions.
Read rune proliferation: runes inside golden brackets spread to the next remnant. Purple proliferation is good, black is bad, golden is excellent.
Remember the same rune does not stack across remnants — look for different high-value runes instead.
Chase top-tier runes such as Opulent (monster rarity), Bond, Power, Time, Death and Rebirth, and stack them onto one remnant for the biggest rewards.
Sell your drops and reinvest into more rarity and defensive upgrades.

Risks

Heavily stacked remnants make monsters much stronger — a weak build can die quickly
Flying monsters, especially with proximal tangibility, can stall ground-based builds
Returns are luck-sensitive; a Mirror drop is not a realistic expectation
The creator expects this particular build to be nerfed in 1.0
