PoE 2 Ritual Farming Guide – How I Got 2 Early Magebloods

Strategy

Ritual is one of the few endgame mechanics that appears in every single map, which makes it the ideal target for a volume-first farming strategy. This method does not depend on an expensive tablet setup — the creator has hit a Mageblood in the first few days of two consecutive leagues without one. What it depends on is running a huge number of ritual encounters quickly and being able to defer the good rewards until they become cheap enough to actually take.

The mechanic rewards two things: tribute generation and reroll count. Tribute comes almost entirely from pack size, so the strategy leans on six-modded maps and pack-size atlas nodes rather than on rare tablets. Rerolls come from tablets and from the Freedom of Faith chain setup, and they are what let you fish through a favour pool until something worth deferring shows up.

This is a league-start-friendly method. The build requirement is low — anything that can blast a ritual circle quickly works, and the creator’s own clear build lands around five divines — and every tablet used besides one unique was self-crafted from a stack of transmutes and alchemies.

Atlas Tree & Setup

Before taking any general atlas points, path straight down through Delirium to reach the ritual cluster at Kharth. Unlocking those points requires completing the Kharth quest, which ends in the Bodok fight — buying a carry for a few divines is the pragmatic call if your farming build is not a bosser.

Allocation order:

• Patient Devotion first — deferring favours costs 50% reduced tribute. Without it, deferring a Mageblood costs over 2,000 tribute, which an unjuiced map simply will not generate.
• Tainted with the Selection and the node above it — biases drops toward belts (Mageblood) and valuable flasks such as Laviana’s spirits.
• The second toggle: on league start take the easier option, or take the 10% increased number of favours node, which is effectively a 10% larger chance of a chase item appearing in the pool.
• Everything else eventually — no ritual point is bad, and every small node adds attributes.
• Pack size is the scaling stat. Search “pack size” in the atlas search bar and take everything. Waystones Have More Effect multiplies pack size that maps already roll.
• Avoid Survival of the Fittest and Man Trap — the latter is bugged and rogue exiles do not spawn inside essences.
• Grab Doryani (via a corrupted zone’s Corrupted Nexus, two bosses back to back) and then Stitched Flesh for a second portal — six-modded maps only give you one portal otherwise, which is dangerous early.

Investment & Returns

• Investment: low. One unique tablet (Freedom of Faith) plus self-crafted tablets and six-modded maps. The clear build sits around five divines.
• Returns: high. The creator has hit a Mageblood within the first days of a league on this method twice, plus steady income from omens (Whittling and the purple targeted-annul omens are the stable earners).
• Scaling: returns scale with pack size (more tribute) and with reroll count (more chances at the pool). A tablet rolling “allow rerolling favours 1-3 additional times” is worth 4 divines at one reroll and 8 at three, which tells you how much the market values that axis.

Step-by-step

1. Path down through Delirium to Kharth before spending points elsewhere; complete the quest (carry the Bodok fight if needed) and allocate Patient Devotion first.
2. Take the belt-biasing selection toggle, then fill out every pack-size node you can find.
3. Grab Doryani and Stitched Flesh so six-modded maps are survivable on one life’s worth of portals.
4. Craft tablets: transmute and augment every ritual tablet, then search “omen” and “allow” to find the two mods that matter — 70% increased chance for favours to be omens, and 1-3 additional reroll uses.
5. Alchemy every tablet that missed both mods; an alch rerolls everything and gives a second shot at the same two hits.
6. Roll maps with alch plus two exalts for six mods, prioritising high pack size — save a 30%+ pack size map for runs where your tablets grant many rerolls.
7. Use Head of the King (guaranteed from the Audience of the King fight) at Kharth to start a Freedom of Faith chain. Pick a chain that opens with increased favours or increased rerolls so the bonus carries through, and ends on a real reward like divine orbs.
8. If a node’s chain looks weak, exit and try a different part of the atlas — the same node always regenerates the same rewards, so you have to fish elsewhere.
9. In the ritual window, scan the pool, defer anything you actually want, and reroll otherwise. Deferred items stay available and get cheaper each refresh; junk should never be deferred.
10. On the final refresh, pull out everything you have driven down in price.

Risks

• The Bodok fight gates the entire ritual atlas cluster and is one of the hardest fights in the game — budget for a carry if your farm build cannot do it.
• Six-modded maps mean one portal by default; without Doryani plus Stitched Flesh, a single death costs the whole ritual.
• Deferring is a trap if you defer junk — tribute spent on items you will not take is tribute you cannot spend on a Mageblood in the same map.
• The chase drops are still variance. The method raises your number of chances; it does not guarantee a Mageblood in any given league.
• New-to-league mechanic items (such as Sacred Blooms) look expensive early but are not reliably worth deferring until strategies form around them.
