Every Jade Isles node you find is normally one boss kill. With one unique tablet it is two — the same node, a second full-value kill, for the price of a tablet that costs less than a sixth of the gem you are hunting. This page is the exact loadout for both runs, and the small print that decides whether the second run happens at all.
What you are farming
A boss sitting at +50% fire resistance becomes −50% instead. That is one of the largest single damage multipliers available to an elemental build, which is why the gem holds a premium price all league.
One thing to know before you build around it: the inversion cuts both ways. Against an enemy already at −30% fire, the gem flips that to +30% and you lose damage. Builds running this gem usually drop elemental penetration entirely and stack raw damage instead.
On prices: Forbidden Rites launched with patch 0.5.5 on 4 September as a brand-new league with its own economy, so every divine figure on this page — measured during Runes of Aldur — is a ratio to reason with, not a quote. The price links throughout search the current league; trust those over any number written in a guide, this one included. The mechanics below were checked inside Forbidden Rites — every screenshot on this page is from the live league — while the drop-rate sample is Runes of Aldur community data.
Where it drops: The Jade Isles
The gem comes from Manoki, the Chosen, the boss of The Jade Isles — an anomaly map on the Atlas that shows up as a storm-locked node called Eye of the Storm before it is revealed.
To open it, clear the surrounding maps carrying the totem icon — the ones with cloud wisps blowing toward the storm. Each one you finish disables a totem; clear them all and the storm dissipates, opening the node in the middle.
Two numbers on that panel matter. Biome: Water is why this farm needs a Forest tablet later. And the tier requirement is a floor, not a target: always socket the highest waystone you can survive.
The two-run trick: Visions of Paradise
That second line is the whole strategy. Finish the map with this tablet socketed and the node does not get marked complete — it becomes Irradiated instead, and you can run it again with a fresh waystone and a fresh set of tablets.
Note the words not previously Irradiated. The rider checks the node’s state before this tablet touched it, which creates the single most expensive mistake in this farm — covered below.
What actually raises the drop chance
The gem drops from the boss, not from the map. Pack size, monster density and “more monsters, more loot” thinking do nothing here. Four things do:
-
Waystone Drop Chance on the waystone itself — the strongest confirmed lever. More waystone quantity means more reward rolls off the boss, and lineage gems ride that roll. Target 100% minimum, 120%+ if you can roll it. - Forest Mastery on the Atlas tree — 50% increased chance to find Lineage Supports in Forest areas. The Jade Isles is a Water biome, so you have to add the Forest tag with a tablet.
- Untold Histories — 35% increased chance to find Lineage Supports. This one belongs to Jado. The Atlas has three masters — Doryani, Hilda and Jado — and only one is active at a time, so swap to Jado before the kill, not after. Doryani is the one alternative worth knowing here: he grants an extra revive, which is the difference between a mistake and a lost map on a waystone rolled to zero.
-
Overseer Tablet boss rarity and quantity — the base that empowers the map boss. Stack two when you can.
Community sample sizes since 0.5 put the drop rate at roughly 1 in 15 to 1 in 21 boss kills once those are stacked. Dry streaks of 40 to 50 kills happen and are not a sign you did something wrong.
Run 1 — the first kill
Three tablet slots, and one of them is spent buying the second run.
| Slot | What goes in | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Visions of Paradise | Converts completion into irradiation. This is the second kill. |
| 2 | Mastered Domain (Forest) | Makes the Water map also count as Forest so Forest Mastery applies. One copy is all you ever need — it changes the node, so run 2 inherits it. |
| 3 | Overseer | Boss rarity, boss quantity, waystone quantity. |
The biome on this unique is rolled per copy — Water, Mountain and Forest versions all exist and look identical in a trade search. Only the Forest one works for this farm. Read the line before you buy.
Waystone for run 1: Tier 15 or 16, rolled for waystone drop chance, corrupted is fine.
Read the danger mods before you socket. A waystone at zero revives with monster crit chance in the hundreds means one death ends the map and takes both one-use tablets with it. Against a 140 div target, trading a little waystone quantity for a waystone you will definitely survive is the correct trade.
Run 2 — what goes in the three slots
The node is now Irradiated rather than complete. Open it again, socket a new waystone (waystones are always single-use) and fill the three tablet slots from scratch.
| Slot | What goes in | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Overseer — the same one from run 1 | It has 10 uses; nothing to re-buy. |
| 2 | Second Overseer, or the unique Season of the Hunt (boss hunted by Azmeri Spirits) or Cruel Hegemony (boss gains 1 additional modifier) | Stacking two Overseers is the standard play. |
| 3 | A third Overseer | Every Irradiated-base tablet is dead on run 2 — see below. Do not spend the slot on one. |
Never socket a second Visions of Paradise. The map was previously Irradiated now, so the rider cannot fire — the tablet is consumed for nothing. There is no third run.
Waystone for run 2: identical spec to run 1. Tier 15 or 16, 100%+ waystone drop chance. This kill is worth exactly as much as the first one, so do not cheap out on it.
Does the Forest biome carry over?
Yes — and that is why you only ever buy one Mastered Domain per node.
Mastered Domain does not decorate a map instance, it re-sculpts the node: once run 1 has applied it, the Atlas node is a Forest biome and stays that way for the re-run. Run 2 keeps the full Forest Mastery 50% without you spending anything.
Which explains what happens if you try anyway. Socket a second copy on run 2 and the map device takes it, shows no red border, consumes it — and nothing changes, because the node is already Forest. It is a silent 2.5 div donation.
So run 2’s third slot goes to a third Overseer. Do not hand it to an Irradiated-base tablet of any kind: Mastered Domain has nothing left to do, and Visions of Paradise cannot fire because the map is now previously Irradiated.
Mistakes that cost you the second run
- Letting the map get Irradiated before Visions of Paradise. A plain Irradiated Tablet or The Grand Project applied to that node first means previously Irradiated is already true, the rider never fires, and the node completes normally. Visions of Paradise must be the thing that irradiates it.
- Socketing an Irradiated-base tablet on run 2. The map takes it without complaint and nothing happens: a second Mastered Domain has nothing to do (the node is already Forest), a spare Visions of Paradise cannot fire (the map is already Irradiated), a well-rolled Irradiated Tablet adds no irradiation to an irradiated map. All burned for nothing. Overseer only.
- Buying the wrong Mastered Domain. Water and Mountain copies read almost identically in a trade listing and do nothing here.
- Forgetting the master swap. Untold Histories is 35% increased chance to find Lineage Supports and it has to be active at the moment the boss dies.
- Over-juicing the waystone past what your build survives. Both one-use tablets die with you.

Is it worth it?
In Runes of Aldur the long-run average landed around 10 to 13 div per kill once Forest Mastery was up, against roughly 2.5 div for a Mastered Domain and 5 to 9 div for a Visions of Paradise. A fresh league resets all three of those numbers, so re-price them before you commit — what carries over is the shape: fixed tablet costs against a payout that is a coin flip with a very long tail. Strongly positive expected value over 100+ kills, a genuine gamble over ten.
If your stash cannot absorb a 40 kill dry streak, run the Overseer tablets alone and skip the uniques until it can. The strategy still profits — it just profits more slowly and stops being able to bankrupt you.
